The games are card based because cards are less cumbersome than board games, and unlike computer games more socially inclusive and interactive, and this is important, because in our world everyone counts.

What is Hoo Ha?

HOO HA! is an easy to play, fun and engaging visual memory card game that helps children learn their times and tables non-sequentially.

HOO HA! uses four learning styles: aural, oral, visual and kinaesthetic to aid recall, improve concentration and develop spatial awareness and reasoning.

HOO HA! encourages ‘automaticity’ so overcoming the problem of skip counting and rote learning. It uses collocation to reinforce recall and promote the importance of speaking and listening in maths, which is often overlooked.

HOO HA! helps to build confidence, this is because as there is no pressure to instantly recall, this in turn really helps children to engage and before they know it, they will be muttering all the answers.

HOO HA! follows the guidelines set out by the ‘National Strategies for Education’ and the box sets are grouped in accordance with the way children are taught their times tables in school, with a box set for Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 3.

HOO HA! takes the stress out of learning those crucial times tables for all parties concerned. No more nagging or ‘encouraging’.

How to play

How To Play Choose a pack Spread all 24 cards face down so that they do not touch. Players take it in turn to turn over two cards, one at a time, laying them flat on the playing surface, then reading out the sum on each card. If the cards are identical, the player keeps the cards and is allowed another go. If the two cards are not identical, the player turns the cards face down again in the same place and it is the next players turn. If a player fails to lay the cards flat on the playing surface or read out the sum on the cards clearly, they miss their next go. If a player gets a matched pair, but fails to read out the sum on both cards or fails to lay both cards flat on the playing surface, the player turns the cards face down and play continues.

Each box set contains three wallets.

Each wallet contains 24 cards.
